Our Programs
Educational Programs
Hoo Haven’s educational programs bring the field trip to you, offering engaging, interactive presentations featuring live birds of prey and other animals for schools, scout groups, senior centers, churches, clubs, and organizations of all ages. Designed to be both entertaining and informative, programs range from short sessions for young children to longer themed presentations like the Eagle, Pelican, Owl and Treasure Hunt, and hands-on activities such as raptor pellet exploration. Entirely volunteer- and donation-supported, Hoo Haven uses program fees to help care for its rescued wildlife while continuing to expand outreach across Illinois and Wisconsin. Passionate about lifelong learning and conservation, the team regularly pursues additional training to ensure high-quality education that inspires audiences to appreciate and protect wildlife. Programs often book months in advance, and can be scheduled by calling 815-629-2212 or emailing Karen@hoohaven.org

Internship programs
“Hoo” Haven’s 2026 Internship Program is a hands-on opportunity to care for and help rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife right here in our community. Are you dependable, willing to work hard, and truly love animals? If you’re ready to learn, get a little messy, and make a real difference in the lives of creatures who wouldn’t survive without help, we’d love to hear from you.
